Acer palmatum 'Garnet', also known as Acer palmatum 'Dissectum Garnet', is an outstanding Japanese maple admired for its rich colouring, graceful form and dependable growth. Its finely dissected, feathery leaves emerge in deep purple-red shades resembling the lustrous tones of a garnet stone.
The foliage holds its colour exceptionally well throughout summer before intensifying to glowing shades of rich red in autumn. Its gently weeping habit and finely layered branches create an elegant, architectural feature throughout the growing season.
Ideal as a focal point in borders, Japanese-inspired gardens and large patio containers, 'Garnet' performs best in a sheltered position away from strong winds and harsh midday sun. This specimen is grafted at approximately 120cm, giving it an established, elevated form from the outset.
