Astrantia Sparkling Stars Series™ 'Red' is a beautiful compact perennial producing masses of rich ruby-red, pincushion-like flowers on slender, upright stems. A recent introduction from Westacre Gardens, it combines an early start to the flowering season with exceptional repeat performance, bringing colour and elegance to the garden for many weeks.
Flowering freely throughout summer, the intricate blooms are held well above the attractive green foliage, creating a light, airy effect that adds movement to mixed borders and naturalistic planting schemes. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, while also making excellent long-lasting cut flowers.
Easy to grow and fully hardy, 'Sparkling Stars Series™ Red' thrives in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Its compact habit makes it ideal for borders, cottage gardens and containers, where it provides reliable colour, texture and wildlife interest with very little maintenance.
