Yucca filamentosa × rostrata 'French Flag'
Yucca 'French Flag' is a striking evergreen hybrid combining the bold architectural form of Yucca rostrata with the more flexible foliage of Yucca filamentosa. It forms a sculptural, rounded crown of intense blue leaves that are relatively soft at the tips and far less prickly than many traditional Yuccas.
As the plant matures, the impressive blue rosette gradually rises above a short trunk. In May and June, reddish buds open into tall spikes of elegant white flowers, adding another dramatic feature above the evergreen foliage.
Exceptionally hardy, drought tolerant and easy to grow, 'French Flag' is ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens, exotic planting schemes and large patio containers. Grow in full sun and well-drained soil, avoiding prolonged winter waterlogging for the best performance.
