Viburnum x burkwoodii
Viburnum x burkwoodii is a highly fragrant, semi-evergreen shrub producing rounded clusters of pink-tinged buds that open into pure white, star-shaped flowers in spring. The blooms release a rich, sweet fragrance, making this an excellent choice for planting near paths, entrances or seating areas.
The glossy dark green foliage provides useful structure through much of the year and often develops attractive reddish-bronze tones in autumn. In milder winters, some foliage may be retained, extending its seasonal interest further.
Reliable and easy to grow, Viburnum x burkwoodii is ideal for mixed borders, informal hedging or specimen planting. It performs well in full sun or partial shade and adapts to a range of soil types, provided drainage is good.
