Taxus baccata 'Elegantissima' is a handsome golden form of the native yew, valued for its bright yellow foliage and naturally broad, upright habit. The young growth emerges a rich golden-yellow, creating a luminous effect that brightens borders and planting schemes throughout the year. Its ascending branches form a dense, well-structured evergreen shrub that provides excellent year-round interest. During autumn, ornamental red berries may appear on female plants, adding further seasonal appeal and creating a striking contrast against the golden foliage.
Slow growing and easy to maintain, 'Elegantissima' is well suited to smaller gardens, mixed borders and container planting. Its neat habit and colourful foliage make it an excellent specimen plant, while its tolerance of pruning allows it to be shaped if desired.
