Tamarix tetrandra
Tamarix tetrandra is a striking, fast-growing deciduous shrub or small tree valued for its graceful habit and clouds of spring blossom. Its fine green foliage is carried on elegant purple-tinged stems, creating a soft, feathery appearance. In late spring it becomes smothered in masses of blush pink flower panicles that attract bees and other pollinators. Tolerant of wind, drought, and salt spray, it thrives in exposed or coastal positions where many plants struggle, while adding delicate colour and texture to the landscape.
