Tamarix tetrandra
Tamarix tetrandra is a striking, fast-growing deciduous shrub or small tree with an elegant, arching habit. Fine green foliage is carried on slender purple-tinged stems, creating a soft, feathery appearance throughout the growing season.
During late spring, the branches become smothered in masses of delicate blush-pink flower panicles. These airy blooms create a beautiful cloud-like display and are highly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.
Exceptionally tolerant of wind, drought and salt spray once established, Tamarisk is ideal for exposed positions and coastal gardens. This RHS Award of Garden Merit plant thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, bringing graceful structure, colour and movement to the landscape.
