Sarracenia leucophylla hybrid
Sarracenia leucophylla hybrid is a tall and elegant carnivorous plant producing long, upright pitchers that can reach impressive heights. The traps develop fresh white-green colouring with increasingly pronounced dark red veining as they mature, creating a crisp and highly decorative contrast.
Perfect for a very sunny windowsill, greenhouse or outdoor patio display during the warmer months, this Sarracenia performs best in strong light where its colour and upright form can fully develop. Its architectural pitchers and distinctive markings make it a standout addition to a carnivorous plant collection.

Sarracenia Care
Light: Provide as much direct sunlight as possible to encourage strong growth and good pitcher colour
Water: Stand the pot in a shallow tray of rainwater or distilled water during active growth and never allow the compost to dry out
Water quality: Avoid ordinary tap water in hard-water areas as mineral build-up can damage the roots
Compost: Grow in specialist carnivorous plant compost that is low in nutrients and free from added fertiliser
Feeding: Do not use conventional plant fertiliser; the pitchers naturally obtain nutrients by trapping insects
Winter care: Sarracenia naturally enter winter dormancy; growth may die back before returning in spring

Sarracenia Plant Care
Watering
You can’t overwater a Sarracenia, in principle. It’s not a problem for this plant to stand continuously in water. We advise you to put the potted plant in a dish of water. Make sure there is always enough water in the dish. Tap water is fine.
Location
Keep the plant in a light spot. This is important for growth and colouring. This can be in the window sill or outside. The plant also likes a humid climate.
All the Sarracenias in our range can easily survive in temperatures between -10°C to 40°C. Therefore, pond side is the ideal place for the plant outside. The plant goes dormant towards autumn and winter. Old pitchers turn brown and the plant doesn’t form new pitchers. In spring or early summer the development of the plant and new pitchers will resume.
Fertilizer
The same applies to all carnivorous plants. They started to catch insects because they live in nutrient-poor soil. Although fertilizer is easy, you quickly give too much. Therefore it is better not to give any.
