Salvia nemorosa 'Ostfriesland'
Salvia nemorosa 'Ostfriesland', also known as 'East Friesland', is a classic hardy perennial producing upright spikes of rich violet-blue flowers above aromatic grey-green foliage. Its neat, vertical habit brings strong colour and structure to summer planting schemes.
Flowering throughout summer, this reliable variety is highly attractive to bees and butterflies and performs especially well in repeated groups or mass planting. The long-lasting flower spikes can also be cut for fresh arrangements or dried for seasonal displays.
Easy to grow and drought tolerant once established, 'Ostfriesland' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Its excellent garden performance and dependable flowering have earned it the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
