Rosmarinus officinalis 'Roman Beauty'
Rosmarinus officinalis 'Roman Beauty' is a compact evergreen rosemary with narrow, aromatic green leaves and gently arching stems. Its dense, rounded growth brings year-round texture and fragrance to sunny planting schemes, offering the character of traditional rosemary in a smaller, more manageable form.
Clusters of violet-blue flowers appear in late spring and early summer, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. The fragrant foliage can be used fresh or dried in cooking, making this variety a useful addition to herb gardens, kitchen planters and low border edging.
Grow in full sun with well-drained soil or compost, choosing a sheltered position. Drought tolerant once established, 'Roman Beauty' suits gravel gardens and patio containers. Trim lightly to maintain bushy growth, avoiding cuts into old wood, and provide protection from severe frost in colder gardens.
