Rosmarinus officinalis 'Miss Jessopp's Upright'
Rosmarinus officinalis 'Miss Jessopp's Upright' is an upright evergreen rosemary bringing fragrance, texture and year-round structure to the garden. Its slender, dark green leaves have pale undersides and release a strong aromatic scent when brushed. The foliage is also useful for flavouring roasted vegetables, meats and other dishes.
From April to July, small pale blue flowers appear along the stems, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. Its tall, bushy habit makes it particularly effective for informal hedging, herb gardens and sunny borders, while also providing an attractive focal point in large patio containers.
Grow in full sun with well-drained soil, choosing a sheltered position away from cold winds. Drought tolerant once established, it suits gravel gardens and Mediterranean planting. Light trimming after flowering helps maintain dense growth; avoid cutting into old wood. Provide protection from severe frost in colder gardens.
