Rosmarinus officinalis
Rosmarinus officinalis is a fragrant evergreen shrub with narrow, needle-like leaves and a naturally bushy habit. Its aromatic foliage provides year-round colour, structure and scent in herb gardens, borders and Mediterranean-style planting schemes.
In spring, clusters of pale blue flowers appear along the stems, adding soft seasonal colour above the deep green foliage. The nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.
Widely valued as a culinary herb, the strongly scented leaves can be used fresh or dried to flavour a wide range of dishes. Rosemary thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and becomes drought tolerant once established, making it an easy and reliable choice for warm, sheltered positions.
