Rose 'Open Arms'
Rose 'Open Arms' is a delightful compact rambling rose, often described as a miniature rambler for its graceful growth and profusion of flowers. Masses of small, semi-double blooms open in soft pink before fading to pale blush, with prominent golden stamens creating a light, natural appearance reminiscent of wild roses.
Introduced by Warner in 1995, this charming variety flowers repeatedly throughout the season, producing generous clusters of blooms from early summer into autumn. A light to medium musky fragrance enhances its appeal, while the abundance of nectar-rich flowers also attracts bees and other pollinating insects.
With its neat, manageable habit, 'Open Arms' is ideal for training over arches, obelisks, pillars, doorways and smaller garden structures. It also performs exceptionally well in large containers, making it a versatile choice for gardens where a full-sized rambler would be too vigorous.

Where to plant
Choose an open, sunny position with free-draining soil. Avoid planting where roses have grown before or transfer fresh soil to the site. Climbing and Rambling roses can be trained up walls, fences and other supports.
Planting
Roses love organic matter, so mix well-rotten manure, leaf mould or compost into the soil. Water thoroughly before planting. Make a hole big enough not to disturb the root ball. Remove from the pot and ensure the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Back-fill soil mixed with a good fertilizer, then firm. Water thoroughly.
Aftercare
Water well until established. Mulching will keep the soil weed-free and moist. For best results feed your roses with fertilizer in spring and again in summer. Remove faded flowers to encourage speedy repeat flowering.
Simple Pruning
Prune your rose in March or before new growth by removing any dead or very thin branches and reducing the height by 1/3 to 2/3 of the previous growth.
