Rose 'Bathsheba'®
Rose 'Bathsheba'® is an exquisite English climbing rose from David Austin, producing elegant, shallowly cupped rosettes in a beautiful blend of apricot-pink and soft yellow with creamy outer petals. Together, these delicate shades create a warm apricot effect that brings softness and romance to walls, arches and other garden structures.
Flowering repeatedly from early summer into autumn, this outstanding climber offers a long season of colour and exceptional fragrance. The medium-strong perfume combines classic myrrh notes with delicious hints of honey and Tea, making it a wonderful choice for planting near seating areas, entrances and pathways where its scent can be fully appreciated.
Introduced in 2016 and recognised with the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, 'Bathsheba'® has a vigorous yet manageable climbing habit that is ideal for walls, fences, obelisks and arches. Thriving in full sun and most well-drained soils, it is an easy-to-grow rose that provides reliable repeat flowering and outstanding garden performance.

Getting the most from your new Rose
Where to plant
Choose an open, sunny position with free-draining soil. Avoid planting where roses have grown before or transfer fresh soil to the site. Climbing and Rambling roses can be trained up walls, fences and other supports.
Planting
Roses love organic matter, so mix well-rotten manure, leaf mould or compost into the soil. Water thoroughly before planting. Make a hole big enough not to disturb the root ball. Remove from the pot and ensure the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Back-fill soil mixed with a good fertilizer, then firm. Water thoroughly.
Aftercare
Water well until established. Mulching will keep the soil weed-free and moist. For best results feed your roses with fertilizer in spring and again in summer. Remove faded flowers to encourage speedy repeat flowering.
Simple Pruning
Prune your rose in March or before new growth by removing any dead or very thin branches and reducing the height by 1/3 to 2/3 of the previous growth.
