Pyracantha coccinea 'Red Column'
Pyracantha coccinea 'Red Column' is a striking evergreen shrub producing dense clusters of bright red berries from autumn into winter. The vivid fruits stand out beautifully against glossy green foliage, while the thorny stems provide strong year-round structure.
Small white flowers appear in summer and are rich in nectar, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. These are followed by the abundant red berries, which provide a valuable winter food source for garden birds and add further seasonal interest.
Hardy, low maintenance and easy to grow, 'Red Column' is ideal for walls, borders, mixed hedging and security planting. Its upright habit also makes it useful in narrower spaces, and it performs well in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil.
