Jasminum nudiflorum
Jasminum nudiflorum, commonly known as Winter Jasmine, is a reliable deciduous shrub that delivers one of the earliest splashes of garden colour. From January to March, its bare green stems are covered in masses of small, star-like yellow flowers, brightening even the dullest winter days.
Often trained against a wall or trellis, this versatile shrub can also be left to cascade over walls or scramble through structures, where its arching stems create a natural effect. When not in bloom, its green stems and light summer foliage provide a subtle background presence. Hardy and undemanding, it is a superb low-maintenance choice for reliable seasonal interest.
