Prunus 'Okame'
Prunus 'Okame' is a beautiful small deciduous tree, renowned for its early spring blossom. From March to April, it is covered in masses of single, vivid pink flowers with a delicate fragrance, providing one of the first floral displays of the year. These nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to bees and pollinators, making it both a decorative and wildlife-friendly choice.
Through summer, the tree carries mid-green foliage, which turns fiery shades of orange and red in autumn before falling to reveal the elegant branching structure. Compact in size with a rounded habit, ‘Okame’ is ideal for smaller gardens, as a specimen tree, or planted along avenues where its seasonal beauty can be enjoyed. Hardy and reliable, it has also been recognised with the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
