Pieris japonica 'Red Mill'
Pieris japonica 'Red Mill' is a compact evergreen shrub prized for its colourful spring foliage and neat, bushy habit. Brilliant red new growth emerges in spring, creating a vivid display before gradually maturing to rich, glossy green.
Long, graceful clusters of small cream, bell-shaped flowers appear in spring, hanging delicately above the foliage and providing an elegant contrast with the colourful young leaves. The evergreen foliage continues to provide structure and interest throughout the year.
Ideal for acid borders, woodland-style planting and patio containers, 'Red Mill' grows best in a sheltered position in partial shade or gentle sun. Plant in moist but well-drained acidic soil, or use ericaceous compost when growing in containers.
