Pieris japonica 'Little Heath' ℗
Pieris japonica 'Little Heath' ℗ is a neat, compact evergreen shrub with attractive green and creamy-white variegated foliage. Its tidy habit and year-round colour make it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, mixed borders and patio containers.
In spring, vibrant red new growth emerges before gradually maturing through soft pink tones to green and cream. Clusters of scented, bell-shaped white flowers appear during March and April, adding further seasonal interest and a delicate lily-of-the-valley fragrance.
Best grown in cool, moist but well-drained acidic soil, 'Little Heath' thrives in partial shade or a sheltered position. It is particularly well suited to ericaceous borders and containers, where its colourful foliage and compact form can be enjoyed throughout the year.
