Philodendron hastatum ‘Silver Queen’, also known as Silver Sword, is a striking climbing Philodendron prized for its smooth, silvery-green foliage. As the plant matures, the leaves elongate and develop a distinctive arrow shape, giving it a bold, architectural look. Thick, sturdy stems support its fast, lush growth, making it an impressive indoor feature.
Best suited to bright indoor spaces with indirect light, this vigorous variety performs beautifully when trained up a moss pole or allowed to climb. Placed near a window where sunlight never directly hits the leaves, it adds height, structure, and a modern metallic tone to interiors.

Philodendron Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage and dull the silver colouring.
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry. Keep evenly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering in winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining aroid or houseplant mix with good aeration. Feed monthly in spring and summer.
Humidity: Enjoys average to slightly increased humidity. Performs well when grouped with other plants.
Pruning and propagation: Trim to control size or encourage bushier growth. Easily propagated from stem cuttings.
