Perovskia 'Blue Spire' is a striking deciduous perennial shrubby sage with aromatic, silvery-grey foliage and masses of violet-blue flower spikes that appear from midsummer into autumn. The tall, airy stems create a soft, hazy effect that adds movement and light to borders, especially when planted in drifts. Its delicate appearance belies its toughness - it’s drought-tolerant, sun-loving, and highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
Hardy and low-maintenance, ‘Blue Spire’ thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, even in dry or poor conditions. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it’s a dependable and long-flowering variety that pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses and late-summer perennials.
