Mimosa pudica
Mimosa pudica is a fascinating and interactive houseplant best known for its sensitive leaves that fold inward and droop when touched, shaken, or exposed to sudden movement—earning it the popular name Sensitive Plant. The delicate, fern-like foliage is complemented by fluffy pink pom-pom flowers, adding charm and curiosity to any indoor collection.
A favourite with children and collectors alike, this plant brings both interest and education to bright indoor spaces. While plants may show some transport stress on arrival, they recover quickly with good care, warmth, and consistent light, soon returning to full, responsive growth.
- Other names: Sensitive Plant, Touch-Me-Not, Humble Plant
- Useful to know: Non-toxic - safe for pets and children
- Eventual height: 30–50cm tall
- Origins: South and Central America
