Lythrum virgatum 'Dropmore Purple'
Lythrum 'Dropmore Purple' is a striking, clump-forming perennial producing tall, slender spikes of rich reddish-purple flowers above narrow mid-green foliage. Its upright, airy habit brings valuable height, colour and movement to summer planting schemes.
Flowering from midsummer into autumn, 'Dropmore Purple' provides a long-lasting display and is highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. The elegant flower spikes also make an excellent addition to seasonal cut flower arrangements.
Ideal for sunny borders, wildlife gardens and planting beside ponds or streams, this hardy perennial thrives in moist or poorly drained soil. Its strong vertical form combines beautifully with ornamental grasses and other moisture-loving perennials.
