Liriope muscari 'Royal Purple'
Liriope muscari 'Royal Purple' is an attractive evergreen perennial forming neat clumps of broad, strap-like dark green foliage. Its grass-like leaves provide useful year-round texture and structure, making it an excellent choice for edging, groundcover and shaded planting schemes.
From late summer into autumn, upright spikes of rich purple, muscari-like flowers rise above the foliage, creating a strong seasonal display. These are followed by glossy black berries, extending the plant's ornamental interest into the cooler months.
Hardy, low maintenance and drought tolerant once established, 'Royal Purple' performs particularly well in partial shade and is ideal for woodland-style borders, containers and difficult shaded areas where many other plants struggle.
