Leucothoe walteri 'Firestar' ℗
Leucothoe walteri 'Firestar' ℗ is a colourful evergreen shrub prized for its striking variegated foliage and changing seasonal tones. New leaves emerge deep red with contrasting creamy-white margins, creating a vivid spring display.
As the season progresses, the foliage develops greener shades through summer before taking on rich red and bronze colouring during autumn and winter. Small white flowers appear in spring, adding a delicate contrast against the colourful leaves.
With its naturally compact, arching habit, 'Firestar' is ideal for mixed borders, woodland-style planting and patio containers. It performs best in moist but well-drained, acidic soil and a position in partial shade, where the foliage remains fresh and colourful.
