Labisia sp.
Labisia sp. is a rare tropical foliage plant prized for its extraordinary patterned leaves. Each broad, oval leaf features a striking network of silvery-green veins over a deep olive-green background, creating an almost skeletal appearance that makes this unusual species a true collector's plant. Growing as a neat, compact rosette, it is perfectly suited to terrariums, plant cabinets and warm, humid indoor environments.
The exact identity of this Labisia remains unknown as it is so rare and it is currently traded simply as Labisia sp. Native to the shaded rainforest floor of Southeast Asia, it thrives in consistently warm, humid conditions with filtered light. Slow growing but exceptionally rewarding, its intricate foliage becomes increasingly dramatic as the plant matures, making it an outstanding addition to any rare houseplant collection.

Labisia Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates light shade. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.
Water: Keep compost lightly and evenly moist, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings. Do not allow the plant to sit in water.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a free-draining but moisture-retentive houseplant compost. Feed lightly in spring and summer.
Humidity: Enjoys higher humidity. Ideal for plant cabinets, bathrooms, or grouping with other plants. Keep away from draughts.
Pruning and propagation: Remove older or damaged leaves to maintain shape. Can be propagated by division during repotting.
