Ilex aquifolium 'Argentea Marginata' (F)
Ilex 'Argentea Marginata' is a stunning evergreen Holly with glossy, dark green prickly leaves edged in creamy-white. The spiny, variegated foliage adds brightness and structure year-round, while small white flowers appear in spring, attracting pollinators. As a female variety, it produces clusters of bright red berries in autumn and winter when a male pollinator is nearby, providing valuable seasonal colour and food for native birds throughout the winter.
With its dense, upright habit, ‘Argentea Marginata’ is perfect as a specimen shrub, hedge, or focal point in mixed borders. Hardy and low-maintenance, it tolerates pruning and can be trimmed into a superb formal decorative hedge. Thriving in sun or partial shade, it makes a handsome, versatile choice for gardens of all sizes. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its reliability and ornamental value.
