Hydrangea paniculata 'Vanille Fraise'
Hydrangea paniculata 'Vanille Fraise' is a spectacular deciduous shrub producing large, conical flower panicles that change colour beautifully as the season progresses. The blooms emerge creamy white before gradually developing rich strawberry-pink and deeper red tones during summer.
The long-lasting flowerheads retain their colour well as they mature and are carried on sturdy red stems above dark green foliage. This combination creates a striking display from summer into autumn, while the large blooms are also excellent for cutting and using in fresh or dried flower arrangements.
With its compact, well-branched habit, 'Vanille Fraise' is ideal for mixed borders, larger containers and informal flowering hedges. Fully hardy and easy to grow, it benefits from being cut back in spring to encourage vigorous new growth and an abundance of flowers in the coming season.
