Hydrangea aspera 'Macrophylla' is an elegant and highly distinctive woodland hydrangea, admired for its dramatic foliage and refined summer flowers. Large, soft, felted green leaves create bold texture and structure, giving this shrub an almost exotic presence in the garden.
From midsummer into early autumn, broad lacecap flowerheads appear, each featuring a ring of pale mauve-pink sterile florets surrounding a central cluster of deeper purple fertile flowers.
