Hydrangea arborescens 'Ruby Annabelle'
Hydrangea arborescens 'Ruby Annabelle' is a striking smooth hydrangea, prized for its unusually coloured flower heads in rich red-pink tones. Held on strong, upright stems, the large rounded blooms create a bold summer display and are less prone to flopping than many traditional arborescens varieties.
This reliable shrub flowers on new wood and continuously produces fresh blooms throughout the summer months, ensuring long-lasting colour. Best pruned back hard in early spring to around 40–60cm, it responds with vigorous new growth and abundant flowering. Ideal for borders, mixed shrub plantings and as a feature plant, it performs well in sun or partial shade.
