Howea forsteriana
Howea forsteriana, commonly known as the Kentia Palm, is a classic and highly elegant indoor palm with graceful, arching green fronds held on slender stems. Its refined shape and soft movement bring a calm, tropical, architectural feel to interiors without overpowering the space.
Slow growing and exceptionally resilient, this long-lived palm is ideal for living rooms, offices, hotels, and conservatories. It tolerates lower light levels better than many palms and performs reliably in stable indoor conditions, making it one of the most dependable statement houseplants available.

Howea Care Sheet
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but will tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the top of the soil is dry to the touch. Do not allow the soil to become waterlogged – ensure excess water drains freely.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a well-draining houseplant or palm compost. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a palm-specific or balanced fertiliser.
Humidity: Tolerates normal indoor humidity but benefits from occasional misting or a nearby humidifier.
Pruning & Propagation: Remove old or browning fronds at the base. Not typically propagated at home, as it grows from seed and matures slowly.
