Houttuynia cordata 'Jokers Gold'
Houttuynia cordata 'Jokers Gold' is a vigorous, spreading herbaceous perennial grown for its colourful, heart-shaped foliage. The yellow-green leaves are attractively flushed and edged with shades of pink and red, creating a vibrant ground-cover display.
Small yellow-green flowers surrounded by prominent white bracts appear from late spring into summer. Ideal for moist borders, pond margins and bog gardens, it grows well in full sun or partial shade and develops its strongest foliage colour in brighter positions.
Spreading through underground rhizomes, 'Jokers Gold' quickly forms a dense carpet and is best planted where its vigorous growth can be contained. It can also be grown in a large container and dies back naturally during winter before returning in spring.
