Homalomena rubescens 'Maggy'
Homalomena ‘Maggy’ is a bold, tropical houseplant with large, glossy, heart-shaped green leaves held proudly on striking red stems. The contrast between the lush foliage and richly coloured stems gives this variety a strong architectural presence with a distinctly jungle-like feel.
With its upright, clump-forming habit, this Homalomena makes an excellent statement plant for shaded corners, living rooms, or as a dramatic focal point indoors. It thrives in warm, stable conditions with indirect light and brings depth and texture to interior plant displays without demanding complex care.

Homalomena Care Sheet
Light: Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top few centimetres feel dry. Reduce watering slightly in winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use a rich, free-draining houseplant mix. Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Mist occasionally or use a pebble tray in drier rooms.
Pruning & Propagation: Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base. Propagation is usually by division during repotting.
