Holboellia latifolia
Holboellia latifolia is a wonderfully unsual evergreen vine climber with scented spring flowers and lush, leathery foliage. Holboellia latifolia produces clusters of tubular, white to lilac blooms in spring, with male and female flowers often on the same plant. An orange blossom scent in spring adds appeal to pergolas, trellises and sheltered walls. In favourable years, this self-fertile plant may produce sausage-shaped purple fruits in autumn with soft white flesh and a sweet pear flavour. A great choice for adding exotic structure to warm, sheltered gardens.
