Helleborus 'HGC® Ice Breaker Ruby'
Helleborus 'HGC® Ice Breaker Ruby' is a compact, free-flowering perennial that brings warm colour to winter planting. From November onwards, numerous outward-facing flowers appear in soft ruby-red shades, highlighted by contrasting golden centres. The long-lasting blooms stand out beautifully against its leathery, dark green foliage.
Part of the Helleborus Gold Collection®, this variety forms a neat clump of evergreen foliage, providing structure beyond the flowering season. It is particularly effective in patio containers, near entrances or at the front of woodland-style borders, where its winter flowers can be appreciated up close.
Hardy and low maintenance, 'Ice Breaker Ruby' thrives in partial shade or sun with fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. Shelter from cold winds and an autumn mulch help maintain healthy growth. Combine with heucheras, bergenias, ornamental grasses or dwarf conifers for an attractive winter display.
