Geranium sanguineum 'Elsbeth'
Geranium sanguineum 'Elsbeth' is a compact, clump-forming perennial producing large purple-pink flowers throughout summer. The bright blooms are held above finely divided, softly downy green foliage, creating an attractive combination of colour and texture.
Spreading gradually through short rhizomes, 'Elsbeth' forms a low, leafy mat that is ideal for ground cover and the front of borders. Its compact habit also suits rockeries, gravel gardens, cottage-style planting and underplanting roses or shrubs.
Exceptionally hardy and easy to grow, this dependable cranesbill thrives in full sun or partial shade and most moderately fertile, well-drained soils. Removing faded flowers and older foliage can encourage fresh growth and further flowering later in the season.
