Erysimum 'Bowles's Mauve' is a much-loved perennial wallflower, valued for its exceptionally long flowering season and soft, smoky mauve blooms. From early spring onwards, slender spires of flowers rise above attractive glaucous evergreen foliage, bringing gentle colour and structure to the front or middle of borders.
Flowering reliably from March through to September, this easy-going perennial is a magnet for bees, butterflies and moths. Best grown in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil, it performs beautifully in cottage gardens, wildlife-friendly borders and gravel planting schemes. Light pruning after flowering helps maintain a tidy shape and encourages fresh growth.
