Erica × oldenburgensis 'Ammerland'
Erica × oldenburgensis 'Ammerland' is a compact evergreen heather producing masses of white flowers from late winter into early spring. As the blooms mature, they gradually develop attractive rose-pink tones, creating a changing display over a long flowering period.
In spring, the fresh young foliage emerges with a warm orange tint before maturing to dark green, adding further seasonal interest. Its neat, dense habit and fine needle-like foliage provide useful year-round structure in borders, containers and winter planting schemes.
Hardy, reliable and low maintenance, 'Ammerland' performs best in acidic, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. It is particularly effective in heather beds, mixed borders and patio pots where both its flowers and colourful new growth can be appreciated.
