Erica carnea 'Winter Sun'
Erica carnea 'Winter Sun' is a colourful evergreen heather producing masses of small, bell-shaped rose-pink flowers from winter into early spring. The blooms provide welcome colour during the colder months and create a vibrant display when relatively few other plants are in flower.
This variety forms a neat, low-growing mound of evergreen foliage that remains attractive throughout the year. Its compact, spreading habit makes it ideal for rock gardens, border edges, containers and mass planting where reliable winter colour is required.
Hardy, reliable and easy to grow, this heather performs best in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Erica carnea is tolerant of a range of soil conditions, including neutral and alkaline soils, and provides excellent low-maintenance groundcover.
