Echinacea purpurea 'Mellow Yellows'
Echinacea purpurea 'Mellow Yellows' is a colourful perennial producing a beautiful mix of daisy-like flowers in soft lemon, primrose and deeper golden yellow shades. The blooms are held on sturdy upright stems and provide a long-lasting display from midsummer well into autumn.
Easy to grow and reliably floriferous, 'Mellow Yellows' performs well in sunny borders, prairie-style planting and cottage gardens. The flowers are highly attractive to bees and butterflies, while their strong stems also make them excellent for cutting and adding to summer arrangements.
Best grown in full sun in well-drained soil, this hardy perennial is tolerant of dry conditions once established. Regular deadheading will encourage further flowering, although some seed heads can be left in place through winter for architectural interest and as a food source for birds.
