Drosera aliciae
Drosera aliciae is a compact carnivorous plant forming neat rosettes of spoon-shaped leaves covered in glistening, sticky hairs. These droplets act as a natural trap for small insects, giving the plant its distinctive jewel-like appearance while providing it with additional nutrients.
Native to South Africa, this Sundew thrives in bright light and permanently moist, nutrient-poor compost. It is particularly well suited to sunny windowsills, terrariums and carnivorous plant collections, and may produce delicate pink flowers on tall stems during spring and summer.

Drosera Care Sheet
Light: Provide bright light throughout the year, with some light shade during the hottest part of summer. Avoid prolonged harsh midday sun behind glass.
Water: Keep the compost consistently moist using rainwater or distilled water only. Do not allow the plant to dry out and avoid cold water during winter.
Soil/Nutrition: Use specialist sundew or carnivorous plant compost. Repot in spring when required and never use ordinary houseplant compost or fertiliser.
Humidity: Prefers warm, humid conditions throughout the year and is particularly well suited to terrarium growing.
Pruning and propagation: Remove dead leaves and spent flower stems as required. Propagation is usually by seed or careful division of established plants.

Watering
Keep this plant moist. To make it easy, keep the plant on a dish filled with water. As soon as it is dry refill it.
Location
Keep the Drosera in a light place. If the plant loses its “dew” this is an indication that it needs more humidity. Move to a more humid environment or cover it with glass.
Of the Drosera’s in our current range, the Drosera filiformis, nidiformis and binata are all winter hardy. This does not apply to the rest and they should be brought in before the start of the winter.

The Drosera does not need fertilizer.
