Daphne odora 'Rogalski'
Daphne odora 'Rogalski' is a compact evergreen shrub prized for its beautifully fragrant flowers and attractive variegated foliage. Clusters of dark pink buds open into pale pink and white blooms, typically from February to March, filling the air with a sweet, heady perfume as the garden moves into spring.
Its leathery, glossy dark green leaves are finely edged with creamy yellow, providing colour and structure throughout the year. The neat, rounded habit makes 'Rogalski' particularly suitable for smaller gardens, mixed borders and patio containers. Position near a path or entrance where its seasonal fragrance can be enjoyed up close.
Grow in full sun or partial shade in a sheltered position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Protect from cold, drying winds and avoid waterlogging. Keep pruning to a minimum and choose its planting position carefully, as daphnes dislike root disturbance once established.
