Hazel 'Merveille de Bollwiller' is a vigorous and dependable cobnut variety, prized for its large, well-filled nuts and reliable cropping. The nuts have an excellent flavour and are produced in generous clusters, making this an outstanding choice for productive gardens and home orchards.
In late winter, long golden-yellow catkins provide ornamental interest before the fresh green foliage emerges in spring. Nuts ripen in early to mid-autumn and are ideal for fresh eating or culinary use. For best results, plant alongside another hazel variety to ensure good cross-pollination and heavier yields.
Hardy and adaptable, it grows well in fertile, well-drained soil in sun or light shade, and can be grown as a large shrub or small tree.
