Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire'
Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire' is a vigorous deciduous shrub prized for its exceptional winter stem colour. As the foliage falls, the bare stems reveal glowing shades of yellow, orange and deep red, creating a striking display through winter and into early spring.
During the growing season, soft green leaves provide a fresh backdrop before developing rich autumn shades of coral, orange, red and yellow. Small clusters of white flowers appear in spring and may be followed by dark berries, adding further seasonal interest and providing value for wildlife.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Midwinter Fire' is ideal for mixed borders, winter gardens and naturalistic planting schemes. Its suckering habit and strong growth make it especially effective when planted in groups, where the colourful stems can create a bold winter display.
