Cornus alba 'Kesselringii'
Cornus alba 'Kesselringii' is a striking deciduous shrub offering year-round interest through its colourful stems, foliage, and flowers. In May and June, clusters of creamy-white blooms appear, followed by small white berries. As autumn arrives, the foliage turns deep shades of red and purple before falling to reveal dramatic, dark red to almost black winter stems that glow in low light.
Best planted in groups for maximum seasonal effect, ‘Kesselringii’ thrives in damp or moist soil and is ideal for borders, wildlife gardens, and waterside planting. Prune back hard in early spring to encourage vigorous new stem growth, which produces the most intense colour through the winter months.
