Cordyline australis 'Peko / Verde' ℗
Cordyline australis 'Peko / Verde' is a striking evergreen architectural plant with long, arching bright green leaves highlighted by a pink central stripe and reddish-pink undersides. Its flowing foliage forms an elegant, palm-like crown, bringing colour, movement and an exotic feel to the garden throughout the year.
As it matures, the plant develops a trunk that raises the leafy crown, creating a strong vertical feature. Established specimens may produce clusters of small, fragrant white flowers, adding seasonal interest. Its distinctive shape works particularly well in contemporary borders, courtyard gardens and large patio containers.
Grow in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil, choosing a sheltered position away from cold winds. Best suited to milder gardens, it needs protection from hard frost and prolonged winter wet. Container-grown plants can be moved into a bright, frost-free position during colder weather.
