Clematis 'Hagley Hybrid'
Clematis 'Hagley Hybrid' is a reliable deciduous climber producing large, soft shell-pink flowers with contrasting reddish-brown stamens. The elegant blooms appear from summer into early autumn, providing a long season of gentle colour on walls and garden structures.
Its pastel flowers are particularly effective when trained over arbours, pergolas, trellises and fences, where the blooms can be appreciated at eye level. 'Hagley Hybrid' is also an excellent choice for combining with climbing roses and other flowering climbers.
Hardy and easy to grow, 'Hagley Hybrid' performs best in fertile, well-drained soil with its roots kept cool and its stems in sun or light shade. As a Pruning Group 3 clematis, it should be cut back hard in late winter or early spring to encourage strong new flowering growth.
