Cirsium rivulare 'Trevor's Blue Wonder'
Cirsium 'Trevor's Blue Wonder' is a distinctive, clump-forming perennial thistle with pincushion-like violet-purple flowerheads held above silvery green basal foliage and softly tinted stems. Despite the name, the flower colour is better described as heather-purple than true blue, giving it a softer, more refined look in the border.
This elegant selection is not spiny, making it far more garden-friendly than many thistles, and it works beautifully in sunny, naturalistic planting schemes, prairie-style borders and wildlife gardens. The blooms are highly attractive to pollinators, and deadheading can encourage further flushes through summer.
