Cercestis mirabilis
Cercestis mirabilis is an unusual climbing aroid prized for its beautifully patterned juvenile foliage. The elongated, arrow-shaped leaves are deep green with striking silvery-white markings following the veins, creating an almost painted appearance that makes this species particularly distinctive.
Best grown in bright, indirect light with warm temperatures and good humidity, Cercestis mirabilis is a natural climber and benefits from a moss pole or similar support. As the plant matures, its foliage can become larger and the patterning may change, giving it an evolving appearance over time.

Cercestis Care
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal; avoid prolonged direct sunlight which can scorch the foliage
Water: Water when the top few centimetres of compost have dried, keeping the growing medium lightly moist but never waterlogged
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity and benefits from warm, humid indoor conditions
Temperature: Keep warm, ideally between 18°C and 27°C, and protect from cold draughts
Feeding: Feed regularly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer
Growth: Provide a moss pole or other support to encourage climbing growth and larger, more mature foliage
