Carex brunnea 'Lady Sunshine'
Carex brunnea 'Lady Sunshine' is a compact ornamental sedge forming a neat clump of narrow, upright foliage. Each deep green leaf is marked with a bright lime-green to golden-yellow central stripe, creating a fresh variegated appearance.
Delicate flowering stems rise above the foliage from July to September, reaching approximately 30cm in height. The understated flowers complement the plant's graceful, grass-like form without distracting from its colourful leaves.
Best grown in partial shade, 'Lady Sunshine' is ideal for patio pots, sheltered borders and planting beneath shrubs. It is evergreen in mild, protected locations, although the foliage may become semi-evergreen or suffer some winter damage in colder gardens.
