Calathea makoyana is a beautiful and elegant tropical houseplant often referred to as the Peacock Plant for its striking foliage. The broad, oval leaves feature intricate feather-like patterns of deep green and light cream, with rich purple undersides that enhance its decorative appeal.
Perfect for bright but shaded rooms, Calathea makoyana thrives in warm, humid environments such as bathrooms, living rooms, or conservatories. Its graceful, upright habit and ever-changing leaf movement bring a sense of calm and sophistication to indoor displays.

Calathea Care Sheet
Light: Plenty of indirect, bright light. Can tolerate some shade, but colour may fade. Keep above 15°c, and away from draughts
Water: Keep soil damp at all times, but not soggy. Water little and often, and allow excess water to drain
Soil/Nutrition: Well-draining houseplant potting mix, feed monthly in spring and summer
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity, so mist regularly, or place on a pebble tray to increase humidity. Also an ideal bathroom plant
Pruning and propagation: Remove old, faded leaves and keep mature leaves dust free by wiping with a damp cloth. Propagate via root divisions in spring and summer
